Handcrafted, shepherd’s hut close to Bamburgh on the Northumberland coast, perfect for couples looking for a cosy getaway to experience a little fun, the simpler life, and picturesque local attractions.

This charming shepherd’s hut is perfect for a couple seeking a romantic getaway with their four-legged companion. During the day, enjoy long strolls along the coast in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and visit the spectacular Bamburgh Castle which sits on the edge of a serene sandy beach. In the evening, head back to your cosy property on wheels and warm your toes in front of the wood burner.

Climb four steps to reach the entrance of this hut. As you step inside, you’ll notice the characterful wooden flooring, curved ceiling and bold-coloured interior. To your left is the wood burner and to your right is an electric kettle for making a morning cup of tea. There is also a fridge with an ice box and a compact shower room with a WC. Straight ahead is the comfortable double bed. You also have access to a well-appointed shared kitchen. Outside, relax in the private garden area with a wooden table and chairs where you can eat breakfast or enjoy a BBQ and evening drinks before some stargazing. Alternatively, head down to the wooden tepee with a warming firepit and chat with guests from the two other huts on the grounds. At the end of the day, take a refreshing rinse in the contemporary shower room, then snuggle up at night in the hut’s comfortable double bed.

While you’re staying in the small village of Lucker in Northumberland, you’ll be surrounded by countryside walking routes. The main appeal of staying in this area is the nearby Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (3.5 miles). Take a picnic to Bamburgh (4 miles) where you’ll find the castle and a sandy, dog-friendly beach. Additionally, North Sunderland Beach is 6 miles away and is a great swimming spot. A little further south is the village of Seahouses (7.5 miles), which is home to some delightful eateries and shops.

The fisherman's hut was our 3rd shepherd hut we stayed in so we could compare. But to be honest the hut was just perfect for us! It was well described on the website what is including so it is actually on people preferences whether they would picked it up as their choice. We had access to other amenities such as extra kitchen. Fabulous and comfortable Shepherds Hut in a lovely quiet location. Beautiful modern barbecue area to cook on. Kitchen area to make drinks and wash up. Lovely owners on site near by. If you want to get away from fast modern life we would really recommend.
