With a grassy garden that’s brilliant for sniffing and chasing tails, this traditionally styled property is located in Bacton, on the coast between Great Yarmouth and Cromer. It makes a great base for groups of four people (and two furry friends) to explore the fabulous North Norfolk area.
Enter this welcoming cottage into the lounge, with its characterful beamed ceiling, cobbled wall and ornamental fireplace. The kitchen has a range of wall and floor cupboards and a convenient dining area, from which floor-to-ceiling glazed doors lead out into the garden. Off the dining area, there’s a sliding door to the shower and WC. Up the narrow and turning, cottage-style staircase are the two bedrooms – a double and a twin – tucked under sloping, beamed ceilings. In the rear garden you can enjoy a meal on the patio while watching your pups use up their excess energy running around the lawn.
Bacton offers a range of amenities including a pub, cafes, shops and fish and chip shop, and you can recharge your batteries with some time out in nature at Bacton Wood (aka Witton Woods), 3 miles away, where well-behaved dogs can be let off the lead and there are picnic tables among the 30 different species of tree. It’s well worth exploring the traditional seaside towns along the North Norfolk coast, and Cromer, for example (11.5 miles) is particularly interesting. Don’t miss a wander along its Grade II-listed Victorian pier – woofsters are welcome – and try out some famous fresh Cromer crab. Also within easy reach is the elegant gem of Felbrigg Hall, 13 miles, where there are long walks around the estate, with 520 acres of woods and waymarked trails, perfect for running, fetching and sniffing.
