This restored shepherd’s cottage is the ideal rural oasis for families and groups of friends with energetic canines. Soak in the outstanding rolling vistas and glistening lake at the nearby Kielder Water and Forest Park, where your four-pawed pals can sniff, roll, and bound to their little hearts' content. Leave your tired-out pups to snooze in the glow of the wood burners, while the humans sink into the bubbling hot tub on the deck.

This traditional property is steeped in over 200 years of history and boasts original craftsmanship features and serene lakeside views. Store your muddy boots in the hallway and towel down the soggy dogs, then step through to the light-flooded lounge where you can throw a log on the wood burner, sink into the plush seats, and rest up weary feet and paws after an action-packed day. Potter in the quirky kitchen and treat your hounds to a well-earned supper. Throw open the French doors leading onto the split-level deck and dive into the steaming hot tub and gaze out at the star-studded sky. Grab a blanket and hideaway in the secluded summer house with a furry friend nestled in beside you and watch the moon glinting off the lake. Retreat upstairs to the homely bedrooms consisting of 2 king rooms, both overlooking Kielder Water. Take advantage of the pretty walks winding from the front door.

Sniff out the enchanting woodland walks surrounding Falstone then refuel with a hearty pub lunch where your tufty-pawed friends are sure to receive a warm welcome, 1.5 miles. Grab a lead and get tails wagging as you join the Cross Border Cycle Route through Kielder Forest, less than 1 mile, or venture to Bellingham and scope out the independent shops and dog-friendly eateries, 9.5 miles.

Lovely cottage, the weather was so good we didn't need to light the wood burner (unfortunately). It was very cosy and warm with the heating and the beds were lovely and comfortable.

This cottage has the best views of Kielder Water and is so peaceful. They have recently renovated the bathroom and it's absolutely stunning. We spent evenings relaxing in the summerhouse reading and watching the amazing sunset. It's certainly one to visit yearly. Would highly recommend and everyone I have shared pictures with agrees it's stunning.

We had a fantastic week with our dog. Although the weather wasn't great all the time, we managed to enjoy the hot tub (takes about 3 hours to heat up). There are numerous walks from the cottage but you do have to navigate a road (forestry trucks drive too fast!) for about 200m. It's a pity the garden gate is locked so you can't walk across the fielRead mored to the dam. The cottage is warm, spacious and well-equipped. The dark skies and silence were much appreciated.
