This newly converted farm building is situated on the edge of York, an ideal retreat for a city break, a walking holiday, or a day at the races.
This beautiful property is located in the charming Yorkshire village of Upper Poppleton. Sleeping four guests and one four-pawed chum, the cottage makes a lovely couples’ retreat or base for a small family. Within Upper Poppleton, you’ll find a village green where the pup can enjoy a game of fetch, as well as a cosy, woof-friendly pub. The property is just 3.5 miles from the ancient city of York, and is 18 miles from the elegant town of Harrogate, both of which have a great selection of paw-friendly eateries.
The stylish holiday home has a charming mix of original features and contemporary design. At the heart of the home is a spacious, open-plan lounge/diner. Enjoy evening meals around the table, before sinking into the comfortable seating to watch a movie on the Smart TV. The impressive kitchen has ample space for the dog bed and a sleek breakfast bar for informal dining. Upstairs, you’ll find two elegant bedrooms, along with a large shower room. Outside, there is a small terrace where Rover can bask in the sunshine and you can dine alfresco.
Head into York for a day of sightseeing. You and the hound can hop on one of the cruises on the River Ouse, to wind your way through the city, absorbing the history and culture as you go. Once back on dry land, wander over to The Shambles, to peruse the many dog-friendly, independent shops and dine in one of the cute cafes. Beningbrough Hall National Trust is just 7.5 miles from the cottage, and is a great place for a long walk with the woofer. With 8 acres of formal gardens and 380 acres of parkland, they’ll have ample opportunities for a good sniff and explore.
