A delightful four-storey period cottage that is just metres from Padstow’s harbour and other popular amenities. A wonderful retreat for couples and friends.
Tucked away on a quiet street in Padstow on the North Cornwall coast, this charming end-of-terrace property is perfect for couples, families and their canine companions. Despite its quiet position, you’re less than 0.5 miles from the bustling harbour, with its myriad of shops and eateries amongst the labyrinth of narrow streets. With the South West Coast Path leading up from the harbour, you can start your day with a brisk clifftop walk with your faithful friend before heading back to your private courtyard for a peaceful morning coffee and a pastry from the local bakery.
Light walls create a sense of space throughout this four-storey property, whilst warm wooden tones and original features add character and charm. After discarding wet shoes and wiping muddy paws in the hall, head into the cosy lounge where comfortable sofas await you. Heading downstairs, you’ll come to the well-equipped and spacious kitchen/diner, whilst upstairs, there are two bedrooms and a bathroom arranged over the last two floors. As you’d expect from a property like this, there is restricted height in places and the staircases are narrow and steep. Outside, a small courtyard is ideal for a BBQ and evening drinks.
Padstow itself has plenty to discover, such as independent shops, galleries, the harbour and the coastal path. It’s also a foodies’ haven, as it’s home to Rick Stein’s seafood restaurant and fish and chip shop. Venturing further afield, you can head across the river to the exclusive village of Rock (15-mile drive or a short ferry crossing), or why not spend the day on one of the many sandy beaches nearby, such as Constantine Bay (4 miles) or Watergate Bay (11.5 miles)? Popular with surfers, Newquay (17 miles) is also worth a visit and is home to a few beaches and the Sealife Centre.
