At a glance

  • Attractive, detached, single-storey barn conversion with fully enclosed garden nestling amongst the North Devon countryside
  • Light and bright, open-plan indoor space with charming farmhouse-style furnishings
  • Escape to Exmoor National Park or beaches such as Saunton, Woolacombe and Croyde
Property code: 88125

This tastefully furnished and equipped barn offers a peaceful location with high ceilings, exposed beams and a private rear garden with BBQ.

This light and bright single-storey barn conversion is in a peaceful location which the entire family will enjoy - including any four-legged friends. Guests can make car trips to the stunning Exmoor National Park for walks or have days at the beach with the golden sands of Saunton, Woolacombe and Croyde all within an easy drive away.

Guests enter the property into an open-plan lounge, kitchen and diner. It is very spacious - helped by lofty ceilings and exposed beams echoing the barn’s previous life. The kitchen is well-appointed and having a dining table and chairs nearby mean that mealtimes remain sociable. At the other end of the barn are the bedrooms. They both offer flexible sleeping arrangements as they come with twin zip-and-link beds which can be turned into super-king-size doubles if required. Both bedrooms have a family bathroom with a stylish roll-top bath and separate shower. Outside in the garden - always the dog’s favourite room - is an enclosed courtyard area. It has a BBQ and garden furniture so guests can easily relax and have al fresco dinners. The front garden is also very pretty, though dogs are best kept on a lead here due to livestock in adjacent fields.

While the property itself is in a quiet setting, nestled into the North Devon countryside, there is plenty to do nearby. Barnstaple, a vibrant market town with a large selection of shops, pubs and restaurants is just over 5 miles away. The South West Coast path is the perfect place to head with dogs and can be accessed from the town. It’s over 630 miles long so is the ideal walk to take with extremely energetic canines!

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 super-king zip-and-link bedroom (can be made into a twin room on request), 1 twin zip-and-link bedroom (can be made into a super-king bed on request)

  • Electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, and washer/dryer
  • Travel cot and highchair available on request
  • Smart TV in the lounge
  • Enclosed rear gravelled courtyard with outdoor furniture and charcoal BBQ
  • To the front is a lawn area which you are welcome to use but is not enclosed (pet owners are politely asked to keep dogs on a lead due to sheep, cattle and horses in adjacent fields)
  • Parking for 2 cars with level access from the parking area B
  • each 8 miles, shop 2.5 miles, pub less than 1 mile
  • Private water supply
  • Lower Yeoland Barn (code 60511) is located 200 yards away sleeping 6 guests (book at additional cost) Ideal for booking alongside for larger group getaways

It was a lovely property. Having use of the running field for the 4 dogs that we had with us was a very big plus point which we had not been expecting. The owner of the property and all of the people we met on the site were very friendly and helpful. It was a very relaxing holiday in a lovely location.

Cottage is beautiful and ideally located to explore the nature park and coastline. I cant recommend this cottage/barn conversion highly enough. Its spacious, comfortable and well equipped, with lots of thoughtful touches from the owners, including a cream tea on arrival. Whilst in a rural location, its very close to Barnstaple and only a short drive to a number of costal towns and villages. A great holiday venue!
