For those seeking a romantic retreat where the dog needn’t be left behind, this delightful cottage in the heart of North Yorkshire’s Richmond is a perfect choice. The stone walled cottage provides an exceptional base in the centre of town, ideal for exploring the Yorkshire Dales National Park before wandering into town in the evening. Set tails wagging with walkies nearby, following a lovely route along the River Swale or throwing a tennis ball at The Batts park just a few metres away.
From the street, you’ll walk straight into the ever-ambient lounge with plenty of comfy seating, a Smart TV and a wood burner ready to keep toes (and paws) warm. From here walk into the well-equipped kitchen where a unique wishing well feature gives the property its name. Meals can be enjoyed from the dining table for two near the wood burner which makes for a very cosy evening. At the back of the house, the spacious bedroom is a comfortable double with an additional Smart TV - a great spot to enjoy a lie-in. The bedroom also boasts a luxurious en-suite shower room complete with toiletries and WC. Outside, guests can make use of the charming terrace with outdoor dining facilities so you can enjoy alfresco breakfasts and dinners.
When you do step out for the day, your pups will love leading the way to adventure along the river, admiring Richmond Falls on the way to Easby Abbey (1.5 miles). The picturesque ruins of this preserved monastery are well worth exploring with the dog on the lead. For excursions a little further away, jump in the car to visit beauty spots in the nearby Yorkshire Dales, including the imposing Aysgarth Falls (15 miles), the scenic Buttertub’s Pass (22 miles) and the Great Shunner Fell (25 miles).
