A cosy yet stylish cottage for four guests with a private garden nestled close to the Cathedral city of Ripon

Leave no stick unfetched in the Yorkshire Dales when staying right here, a characterful property welcoming dogs and humans alike. Located in the historic city of Ripon, the property offers a fantastic base for any family or small group of four hoping to explore North Yorkshire with one canine companion for company. Discover a daily dose of walkies along the River Ure (0.5 miles) or in the Ripon City Wetlands (2 miles), always packing your pup’s tennis ball for games of fetch whenever the opportunity might present itself.

Filled with characterful elements and a cosy interior, you’ll always feel comfortable when staying in this lovely holiday home. Benefiting from two ground-floor lounge spaces, there’s always space for everyone to relax in the evening. One is a lounge which makes up part of a generous open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, the second is a sitting room with a sofa bed and Smart TV. Whichever room you chose to unwind in, we’re sure your pup will find a cosy spot to curl up at your side. There’s room for the whole family to come together in the outdoor space, a generous tiered patio leading to an enclosed lawn where your dog can play. As night falls, take your dog-tired body up to the first floor to find a double and a twin bedroom waiting.

You won’t have to travel far to find an easy-going walking route to be enjoyed by all. Wander 1 mile into Ripon city centre to enjoy a mosey around the Ripon Spa Gardens or a walk along the River Skell. Jump in the car to discover a world of outdoor adventure in the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, including the majestic Fountains Abbey (4.5 miles) and the Studley Deer Park (4 miles) – just be sure to keep your pup on a tight leash when exploring the scenery with free-roaming deer all around!

We had a lovely weekend the cottage had everything you needed and more and was very clean. The owners have put a lot of thought into Madhatters cottage it was like home from home and was a great base to explore the dales and North Yorkshire .

It was a lovely break for our family. The welcome pack was very special and added to our feeling of being away. Great hosts and a creative cottage we really appreciated. Good dog walks and seeing a heron along the river was lovely. Great location for getting to many different areas of yorks and further away.

This cottage is a little gem , had great correspondence from the owners as soon as I'd booked the holiday and also available at any point throughout our stay . The cottage is very clean and comfortable and not far at all from the town centre . Would recommend this cottage to family and friends .

A two weeks stay was too short to explore North Yorkshire. After each daily trip we did enjoy the cottage with its full and cosy equipment, garden and patio. we will recommend it.

Newly refurbished cottage within easy reach of Ripon town centre. Well equipped with a homely feel and nice personal touches. Would happily stay here again.
