The owners allow access to their extensive gardens that include a picnic table, a giant chess table and lake. Because of the hens and peacocks that roam freely, guests are kindly asked to keep their dogs on leads. You can also make use of the handy covered storage area for bikes and other equipment.
Just two miles away is the famous Hadrian’s Wall; a 73 mile-long World Heritage Site built to guard the wild north-west frontier of the Roman Empire. Follow this stunning route with your dog and discover the forts, turrets and hamlets along the way. The popular Pennine way is also just two miles away and boasts scenic walks past Thirlwall Castle (eight miles) and down into the North Pennines AONB. Nearby towns include the market towns of Haltwhistle (6.5 miles) and Hexham (16.5 miles).
