Don’t miss the intriguing follies in nearby Brightling, designed by the eccentric John ‘Mad Jack’ Fuller in the late 18th/early 19th century. Head to Hastings (10.5 miles), Bexhill (9.5 miles), Eastbourne (20 miles) or Rye (16.5 miles) for beach days and seaside resort vibes, all of these destinations have sections of beach that are dog friendly year round. National Trust Batemans (5.5 miles) and Herstmonceux Castle (9.5 miles) both welcome dogs in the grounds and make for a pleasant day out.
