Enjoying a rural location with far-reaching views across the valley, this spacious farmhouse is great for families and groups that want to get together and make the most of the outdoors.
Take your happy hound with you to follow footpaths through the Llanover Valley and across Blaenavon Common right from your front door when you stay at this former farmhouse. Sleeping eight guests, the four-bedroom retreat nestles in exceptional dog-walking countryside, 6 miles from Abergavenny, in the Brecon Beacons. Ideal for a large family or group of friends, this Welsh property will also appeal to four-legged companions for its generous gardens.
Tear yourselves away from the views to enter the stone farmhouse. Towel Fido down in the hall before heading through to the lounge and stoking up the wood burner so he can stretch out on the rug after his exciting walk. Watch TV, play games and give your pal some puppy love before heading through to the farmhouse-style kitchen/diner to dish up his dinner and make yours. There’s a washing machine in here for damp doggy towels and a table to gather around for jolly, holiday feasts. A shower room and a twin bedroom are also downstairs, while three king-size bedrooms are on the first floor. The family bathroom is also up here. Throw a ball for Fido out on the lawn to give him a run before breakfast. Sit outside in the sunshine later too, perhaps lighting the BBQ in the evening.
Venture 2 miles from the house to reach the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, with its superb waterside walks. Visit picturesque Goytre Wharf, 2.5 miles away, where you and your pup can explore before all enjoying refreshments in the cafe afterwards. Head 10 miles to scenic Llandegfedd Reservoir, where there are also lots of fabulous routes for furry feet to follow and plenty of treats, including delicious doggy ice-cream, in the cafe here too.
