Enter via the hall, where you can hang dog leads, and make your way into the lounge to settle on the sofa in front of the TV while your happy hound dozes nearby. Usher him into the cheerful kitchen/diner when it’s time to serve his dinner and start preparing yours. There is also a WC at this level. Make your way down to the lower ground floor to find the games room and a snug, or pop Rover’s dog blankets into the washing machine in the utility room. The family bathroom, and a bedroom with a king-size bed and a single, are on the first floor of the cottage while another double bedroom, with an extra single trundle bed, is on the second floor. Let Rover out into the garden from either the ground floor or the lower ground floor. Fire up the BBQ here on warm evenings and keep him company over a bottle of wine.
Visit Pembroke Castle and take your happy hound with you. There are plenty of water bowls within the grounds for him to drink at as he passes. Find scenic footpaths to follow in the West Wales countryside around the town and head to the beach at Swanlake, 5 miles away, where he can bound in and out of the waves at any time of year.
