Set in the picturesque village of South Perrott, this gorgeous thatched cottage makes a memorable holiday home for families enjoying a tranquil rural break and for couples seeking an idyllic romantic getaway. Offering ample space for five guests, the cottage has plenty of room for two four-legged pals, and has a range of characterful features including a pretty porch, original flagstone floors, solid wooden doors, stone fireplaces and a lovely conservatory. Beautifully updated throughout, this traditional cottage is a wonderful base for exploring the quaint villages and glorious countryside of both Dorset and nearby Somerset.

Entering the property, the striking hallway has a step down through to the cosy lounge and the beautiful dining room, each with a lovely ornamental fireplace. The spacious, country-style kitchen has a sociable breakfast area, with a utility room and pantry. The light-filled conservatory is perfect for enjoying a morning coffee. A refreshing family bathroom is also on the ground floor. An open-tread oak staircase leads to the first floor and three light, tastefully furnished bedrooms: two doubles – one with an en-suite shower room, and a single with an additional pull-out trundle bed. The sunroom opens onto a walled courtyard with low steps leading up to a terrace with garden furniture in the shade of an old apple tree. The fully enclosed garden has a lawn with space for dogs to run about, and a vegetable patch where you can help yourself to seasonal produce.

Beaminster is 3.5 miles away, with a range of great pubs and restaurants. There are plenty of great places nearby for your dogs to help you explore, including Forde Abbey, Kingcombe Meadows, Bracketts Coppice Nature Reserve and Coney’s Castle, all within 11 miles. The coast is within 15 miles, with dog-friendly beaches at Eype, St Gabriel’s Mouth and Burton Bradstock.

Really lovely cozy cottage with a beautiful garden, had everything you needed and lots of space. we had a lovely week exploring the surroundings was very quiet and relaxing.

A lovely week spent in the cottage,found it to be very comfortable and ideally placed for exploring Dorset.Found a couple of lovely walks with our dog,one of which led to the Winyards Gap pub which I would recommend,the climb is challenging but helped by knowing a well earned drink at the other end.Be warned for those that are tall the front door iRead mores hard as I found out more than once.Would certainly visit again. A fabulous cottage in a wonderful peaceful location. Very comfortable and well equipped with everything that you may need for your stay. Particularly enjoyed relaxing in the delightful sunroom looking out at the cottage garden. This is a great place to stay, we had two dogs who loved the downstairs space and back garden. Shame the pub/hotel not open next door but there are plenty of other places nearby. Bridport well worth a visit lively feel to the place.

The standard of cleanliness of this picturesque cottage was exceptional and it was very well equipped. However, there were a couple of issues with the electrics and the kitchen sink. The enclosed garden was wonderful especially for our dog who enjoyed the freedom to roam and the sun room was a very pleasant place to sit in the mornings. We loved everything about the cottage , very well equipped . One only concern , the garden is around the corner from the back door , so if your dog or children are out you cant see them . But other than that a Beautiful cottage .
