A superb retreat where you can immerse yourself in nature on the Jurassic walkway, a raised wooden platform leading from the property into the treetops, deer can often be seen.
This rural retreat is set amongst 22.5 acres of ancient woodland, just 2 miles from Chulmleigh. The property sleeps six guests and four furry companions, making it ideal for large families and groups of friends. You and the pack can enjoy peaceful walks amongst the trees directly from your front door, allowing you to switch off and connect with nature. Further afield, you’ll be perfectly placed to explore Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks, both of which are less than 20 miles away.
The property has a rustic feel, with exposed woodwork and traditional furniture. The open-plan lounge has comfortable seating arranged around a wood burner – the ideal place for the pups to doze. This room opens into an attractive kitchen, with a large dining table to seat everyone; also on the ground floor is the family bathroom. Overlooking the lounge is a galleried landing and, from here, you can access the three bedrooms, two of which have en-suite facilities. French doors lead from the kitchen/diner to the decked balcony, where you can enjoy al fresco dining amongst the trees. From here, you and the hounds can stroll along the boardwalk, marvelling at the local wildlife along the way.
The charming town of Chulmleigh is just 2 miles from the cottage. Wander amongst its traditional cob and thatched cottages, before popping into one of the woof-welcoming tearooms or cosy pubs. There are some beautiful walks you and the hounds can take along the Little River Dart, or you can join the long-distance Tarka Trail to explore the surrounding landscape. You’ll also be within touring distance of the North Devon coast (26 miles), where you can stride out along the South West Coast Path or spend the day at one of the many paw-friendly beaches.
