In the South Shropshire hills on the English/Welsh border sits this wonderful four-bedroom barn conversion. Situated in a rural location and in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it’s great for families and two waggy-tailed friends wanting tranquillity, long walks and beautiful countryside.
The spacious interior is perfectly designed for those with restricted mobility. Exposed beams, whitewashed walls and rustic charm create a homely atmosphere and it won’t be long before you’re relaxing on the comfortable sofas with a good book and Fido at your feet. Underfloor heating and a cosy wood burner provide extra comfort, but when the sun is out, open the rear doors and let the outside in. While your pup watches the sheep graze in the nearby field, you can create delicious meals in the kitchen and then serve them at the dining table seating eight people or outside on the patio table. When it’s time for bed, you’ll find two twin rooms and a king-size bedroom on the ground floor so your four-pawed friend won’t be far away. The rooms are light and airy with access to separate shower rooms, and upstairs you’ll find an additional super-king bedroom. In the morning, treat your devoted hound to morning exercise in the paddock or let Rover roam in the enclosed garden while you enjoy a morning coffee.
The market town of Church Stretton (3.5 miles) has an abundance of shops, eateries, and a golf course while the surrounding Shropshire Hills are a delight for outdoor enthusiasts. Sniff out adventure on the Long Mynd with its rocky climbs, hiking trails, and wild swimming spots or head further afield and discover the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site (14 miles). Alternatively, jump on a steam train at the Severn Valley Railway (16 miles) and journey with your dog through the Shropshire countryside.
