This central village cottage is perfect for couples and small families wanting to stay in a Grade II-listed traditional Peak District cottage. There is a popular pub and a variety of shops a short walk away.

Bradwell is on the edge of the rolling hills of the White Peaks where it meets the more dramatic Dark (or High) Peaks. With access to the whole national park, you’ll be spoilt for choice of things to do, and your furry friend will be pretty happy too. Surrounded by stunning countryside with charming villages and towns, this is a great spot for a family or friends who want to discover the real peaks in a truly dog-centric area.

As an old coaching inn, this property would suit a group that like quirky buildings with an interesting history. The conversion has been done to maximise the space and light, so all the living spaces and the double bedroom are on the first floor (reached via an open staircase), and the second twin bedroom is on the ground floor. The cottage shares the garden with the owners, who live next door, it has its own private area too with lots of space for kids and dogs to run around.

Grab the lead and head out on a walk via the lovely village pub, or visit picturesque towns and villages, including Hope (1.5 miles) and Hathersage (4.5 miles), Buxton (11 miles) and Bakewell (10 miles). As well as miles of stunning walks, the area is known for its mining past and incredible caves. World-famous Blue John Cavern ¬is 5 miles down the road in Castleton where dogs are welcome to explore too. You can’t take your canine friend into Chatsworth House (12 miles), but don’t let that put you off visiting, they can visit the grounds and the stable yard, and enjoy walks in the woods and on the moor nearby.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 double and 1 ground-floor twin bedroom
  • Electric oven and gas hob, fridge, washing machine, microwave, and dishwasher
  • 2 bathrooms - 1 bathroom with shower over bath and WC, and 1 ground-floor shower room with WC
  • Wood burner (first basket of logs provided)
  • Smart TV in the lounge
  • Garden area with seating
  • Off-road parking for 1 car
  • Electric charging available (chargeable to owner)
  • Pub and shop within walking distance
  • Regret no young children (babes in arms welcome) due to the open staircase and an unfenced pond in the garden
  • Electric vehicle charging on site
  • This property will be decorated for Christmas
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 2 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £200 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £25. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

Good value. Nicely furnished little place in quaint picturesque little village. All expected amenities provided. The two single beds are not really suitable for adults. The only real issue with the place is the noise - It only has single glazed sash windows and is adjacent to the main road and a church which "bongs" it's bells every 15 minutes (froRead morem 7am-11pm I think). Therefore light sleepers are unlikely to manage an early night or late morning without disturbance from one or the other. Hide

This cottage is beautiful, kept to a high standard and has everything you would need. Lovely little touches like plugs with USB sockets, guide to the area and tea/coffee and milk on arrival. The garden is huge and beautiful, we took long leads for our dogs to explore, the drainage tunnel was mostly dry during our stay so was not a worry. Bradwell is a great base for a holiday and the cottage is a great base in Bradwell. We were very comfortable there and the EV charger was a real benefit. The only negative thing worth noting is the traffic noise from the very busy road

Excellent property, only had a couple of issues, the tv channels randomly dissappear, although the apps like netflix work great. The internet connection is excellent. Also the shower is fantastic after a good walk around the dales, although couldnt get a hot bath. But assured that this will be addressed. All in all a great break in a lovely place.

A lovely clean and cosy cottage, very well-equipped. The owners gave us a very warm welcome and were only too happy to offer advice on the local area and amenities. A great place to use as a base to explore and it stayed cool in the heatwave! Thank you for sharing the garden too, a peaceful and shady place to rest.
