Within a few miles of the unspoilt coastline of Luce Bay, this comfortable rural bungalow on a working farm will be a haven for a large family or groups of couples. Set within rolling hills, it is just the place for walkers, mountain bikes, nature lovers and golfers keen to explore the dramatic coastline and inland areas around the Machars of Galloway. The interior offers a blend of traditional and modern furnishings to create a homely atmosphere, topped off by a private Swedish hot tub in the rear garden.
The spacious lounge is full of natural light, its reclining furniture a place to relax with a book or podcast on a golden summer morning or curl up together with loved ones to watch a film as the wood burner bats away the chill of winter. Delicious meals from the kitchen can be taken in the dining room, just a few feet away, so even the most worn out in the group won’t have far to revive themselves. Three individually styled and spacious double bedrooms are located across the hall, along with a large wet room. The front and side gardens are a blend of lawns, patio and gravelled areas, its seating area able to host al fresco dining or stories around the firepit. The area is known for its dark skies and the hot tub would be the perfect spot from which to get a panoramic view of the cosmos.
Children within the group have the chance to head up to the farm to walk calves on the lead or feed lambs. A little farther away, dogs are welcome to gad about on the rocky coves on the beaches near Port William (3 miles) as well as the golden sands of Luce Bay (8.5 miles), an area which has welcomed minke whales, dolphins and other sea life in recent times. Numerous scenic footpaths and mountain bike trails can be found near Port William.
