Located on the outskirts of a small hamlet, Rhosgoch, near Paincastle (2 miles) it is perfectly placed to explore iconic destinations, such as the Black Mountains, Wye Valley and the Brecon Beacons. The farmhouse boasts spectacular features for all the family to enjoy, including hot tub, games area and of course the brilliant outdoor space, complete with firepit, so you can be assured Fido and Rover will sniff out plenty of adventures too.
Step inside to a large open-plan lounge and dining area that’s separated by the beautiful farmhouse chimney stack – one of the many original features of the property that has been retained and restored. Offering ample, comfortable seating there is also a Smart TV and entertainment centre with Nintendo Wii and games – presenting the perfect opportunity for the whole family to be involved in gaming fun after day of outdoor activities. French doors lead directly from the lounge onto the patio, which offers handy access for furry guests too. The country style kitchen centres around a traditional range cooker and large island with seating – its bright and modern and offers all the mod-cons required to cater for a comfortable stay. Just off the kitchen lies a useful utility area and the dining room also lies adjacent to the kitchen – this is a great space for enjoying board games after dinner. Upstairs you’ll find four bedrooms and a family bathroom. The first bedroom is king-size with an ensuite and the other three bedrooms are either king-size or twin rooms – the bed configurations can be adapted to suit your party. Everyone is sure to have a ball outside where there is a large patio, outdoor seating and BBQ as well as the luxury of a hot tub which sits under an open sided structure, so it can be used in all weathers. Pups and children alike will go mutts for the additional outdoor space, an enclosed field that sits just above the driveway. It is the perfect spot to run off extra energy, but please also be advised that there is a small ravine at the periphery of the field which creates a stream during wet weather, so children and animals must be supervised at all times. The field also houses a fire pit and seating area – an atmospheric place to enjoy a drink and perhaps toast marshmallows as dusk draws in…And to the rear of the property there is also a games room with pool table and table tennis, handy for rainy days! This doubles up as storage space for outdoor equipment (please bring own padlocks) and also houses a dog crate, if needed. There is ample parking at the property.
This fantastic dog-friendly retreat sits just 4 miles from Hay-on-Way, known for its popular literary festival and brimming with plenty of entertainments for both you and your canine companions to enjoy, such as river walks, beach rambles and many of the cafes and bookshops welcome dogs too. Within 20 miles you can visit the historic towns of Brecon and Builth Wells, with the latter hosting the yearly Royal Welsh Show. The local area known for its outdoor activities, so set tails wagging and embark on any number of adrenalin-fuelled activities, such as hiking, cycling, fishing and canoeing, and finish off with a hearty meal at one of the welcoming dog-friendly pubs nearby; the local village of Painscastle is just 2 miles away and presents plenty of options.
