Previously the village pub now transformed into a cosy cottage with original features and thoughtful styling. Explore the lakes and fells on foot or by bike, there are some fabulous walks and quiet country roads to explore.

Situated in the small village of Little Blencow on the edge of the Lake District National Park, sits this charming three-bedroom cottage. Overlooking the village green and the River Petteril, it’s an idyllic space for families looking for tranquillity and long walks straight from the door with their four-pawed friend.

Formerly the village pub, the property has been lovingly converted yet still retains much of its original character with wooden beams throughout. The open-plan ground floor is a sociable space with comfortable sofas that invite you to sit and chat with the family while your canine companion stretches out on the wooden floor. There’s plenty of space for everyone and on chillier nights you and your pup can enjoy relaxing in front of the wood burner. Overlooking the lounge is an inviting dining table and a contemporary kitchen equipped with everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay. There’s also a handy utility room on this floor for washing muddy boots and mucky paws and an outdoor courtyard where your pet can safely roam. From the ground floor, stairs lead up to the first floor where you’ll find the three bedrooms. Featuring an en-suite super-king-size, en-suite king-size, and a single room, all are wonderfully comfortable and furnished with style and flair. Outside, opposite the house, there’s a private picnic table overlooking the green. Soak up the tranquil views while the children play with Fido on the grass or head to the river, just 30 metres from the front door, and watch the family splash in the water with your beloved hound.

The historic market town of Penrith is 5 miles from the property and offers fabulous shops, restaurants, and dog-friendly pubs. While here, catch a film or visit the gallery at the neighbouring Rheged Centre. The more energetic can head 7 miles to Ullswater where you can spend the day on the lake. Your pet will love to swim in the water while you try your hand at wake surfing or paddleboarding. Aira Force, 9.5-miles from the property, will also get tails wagging with its tall waterfall, forest trees, and wildlife.

  • 3 bedrooms – 1 super-king zip-and-link (can be made up as a twin on request), 1 king-size and 1 single

Very clean cottage with everything that you need for a stay. A quiet village with easy access to the lakes and good walking. Nice to have maps in the house to help in planning. We had a great stay in the most perfect weather and although there is no garden the picnic bench in the car park does provide some outdoor seating to enjoy good weather. TheRead morere is also a bench on the village green that can be used. Hide

A very comfortable, clean and modern property which is ideally situated for access to a wide range of places to visit. Despite there being no garden, we exercised our dog on the grassy area opposite the property and down by the nearby river - a 2 minute walk away. Take a torch! Traffic passes right past the front door but we didn't notice it too muRead morech as it is a quiet village. As with many holiday properties, dogs are not allowed upstairs and there is a fitted barrier/stairgate for this purpose. Hide

What a beautiful cottage. We have just returned from a glorious weekend here, the cottage was very clean, well equipped and in a great location. We loved the little extra touches such as eggs and milk in the fridge, an Alexa to play music and a teddy in the kids room. We would like to return again later in the year. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The property is beautiful, well equipped and warm and cozy. It is easy to access from the M6 which is a huge advantage. 20 min drive to Ullswater, Aira Force and Scotland! This location was so useful. The endless hot water came as a very welcome way to warm up after brilliant days exploring lakes and climbing mountains! Very highly recommended.
