Get the whole gang together at this wonderful period home on a peaceful complex of stone properties in the heart of Ambleside. Dating back to the 1770s, it’s overflowing with traditional charm and boasts views across to Loughrigg Fell. Sleeping 16 people over seven bedrooms and welcoming four faithful friends, it’s ideal for families or groups of friends who have a special occasion to celebrate. You will love hosting dinners in the impressive dining room, and your dogs will adore stretching out in front of the wood burner in the lounge each evening.
Step inside and you’ll find a boot room – the perfect place to store all of your dog-walking gear. Head on through to the kitchen and get cooking for your loved ones. You can then call everyone together in the palatial dining room – a truly lovely place to entertain, with light flooding in through the windows to show off the original plaster ceiling and marble fireplace. Round off the day with a glass of wine in front of the wood burner in the lounge as your canine companions snooze at your feet. When it’s time for bed you’ll find four spacious bedrooms with fell views on the first floor. Up on the second floor there are another three bedrooms. And if you want to extend your group to 20 people, there’s a cosy two-bedroom apartment tucked away behind the property that’s also available to rent.
There’s a gorgeous 6.5-mile circular walk up Loughrigg Fell and Rydall Cave right from Ambleside. With lake views, swimming spots and an impressive cave on the list of things to explore, your dog’s tail is sure to be wagging. Alternatively, take your pups on a cruise on Lake Windermere. Cruises depart from Ambleside (0.5 miles) and take you to Lakeside, Brockhole or Bowness.
