Characterful and homely former farmhouse with plenty of space for families and dogs, all set within a country estate and near to magnificent gardens. An ideal choice for a multi-generational break.
Set against the natural beauty of Dorset’s countryside, this former farmhouse is ideal for groups of friends or large families who want to spend quality time together in a picturesque setting. Located within the Minterne Estate in the village of Minterne Magna, you and your canine companions can explore a wealth of nearby walking routes, including access to Minterne Gardens where dogs are welcome on a lead. Guests are also invited to make use of the tennis courts and outdoor pool at certain times of the year.
Original features and traditional furniture add character and charm throughout the property, whilst a warm palette and timeless soft furnishings add a sense of comfort. You enter into the boot room, which is perfect for discarding wet outdoor gear, before heading into the large country kitchen which has a table for informal dining and everything you’ll need to cook up something amazing. There’s also a lounge complete with a wood burner, a snug and a more formal dining room on this floor. Two staircases lead up to the five bedrooms on the first floor, all of which are light, airy and tastefully decorated. Three bathrooms complete the accommodation. Outside, enjoy al fresco dining in the pretty, enclosed garden, and enjoy Minterne House’s facilities.
Both two-legged and four-legged guests will love exploring Dorset’s miles of unbridled countryside, with many walks from your doorstep, including a stroll to the well-photographed, hillside chalk giant at Cerne Abbas (2.5 miles). You can also enjoy the Dorset coast from here. Heading 22 miles west along the Jurassic Coast you can visit places such as West Bay and Abbotsbury, which is famous for its Swannery and Gardens. Whereas heading south, you have the popular seaside town of Weymouth (18.5 miles) to enjoy with its beach, attractions, shops and eateries.
