With an elevated position overlooking rolling fields and over to the estuary, this is the perfect base for exploring local coastline walks and award-winning sandy beaches.
This retreat enjoys a fantastic location, just 1 mile from Braunton, and makes a wonderful romantic escape for a couple and their furry third wheel. You’ll be in a prime position to explore the stunning North Devon landscape on paw and foot, with easy access to the Tarka Trail and South West Coast Path, as well as many dog-friendly beaches. After a long walk, return to the cottage to unwind in front of the wood burner or sip a sundowner in the enclosed garden.
Enter the property via the porch, where you can store all your dog-walking gear. The single-storey cabin has a nautical theme, and the main living area has an open-plan layout, with a sofa and a rug for the pup to stretch out on after a long walk. On chilly evenings, fire up the wood burner to toast your toes and paws as you watch the Smart TV. Whip up a meal in the compact kitchen, to enjoy together at the breakfast bar, before taking a long soak in the free-standing bath and sinking into the sumptuous king-size bed. Patio doors lead to an enclosed garden, where the hounds can potter about as you sip a morning coffee and admire the panoramic views.
Your nearest beach is Saunton Sands (3 miles), which is a spectacular 3-mile stretch of golden sand. The beach is dog-friendly all year, and your hairy hound will love charging along the water’s edge or exploring in the sand dunes. From Braunton, you and Rover can join the traffic-free Tarka Trail, which you can follow into the market town of Barnstaple (5.5 miles), where you’ll find a great selection of paw-friendly eateries. The South West Coast Path also passes Braunton, and you can join it to explore the remote peninsula of Crow Point.
