A beautiful lodge nestled in a small complex close to Dartmoor National Park, boasting a hot tub to relax under the stars.
Take your happy hound on exhilarating walks through the dramatic scenery of Dartmoor National Park from this retreat at Graddon Cross. Sleeping four guests, as well as one dog, the two-bedroom, cabin-style abode sits with others on a site just 2 miles from Okehampton. Return from your forays into the Devon countryside to bask in the sunshine on the deck with your contented canine or to bubble in the hot tub while he steals a well-earned nap.
Climb the exterior staircase and step into your home from home to discover an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Settle down in here in front of the Smart TV and give your favourite furry friend some attention. Whip up holiday fare in the kitchen area and serve your hungry hound his dinner here too. Open the doors onto the deck on fine days. You also have a utility room, with a washing machine, where you can rinse damp doggy towels after long, wet walks. At the end of each busy day, pat your chum goodnight then head through to the twin bedroom, or the double which has an en-suite shower room and Smart TV. There is also a family bathroom. Dine outside as often as possible; relax in the hot tub and enjoy a glass of wine before taking your faithful friend for a last stroll before bed. You also have parking for two cars.
Venture just over 1.5 miles to reach the Meldon Reservoir. From here, embark upon a 4.5-mile, circular walk that takes in the impressive, iron Meldon Viaduct, over which only the Granite Way, a long-distance cycle track, now crosses. Energetic pups might also like to stretch their furry legs with a hike up Black Tor, overlooking the Meavy Valley. The route can be reached following an 8-mile drive from the lodge.
