West Bay will set tails wagging with its marvellous sea vistas and plethora of walking opportunities along the coast path. Sleeping eight humans and two hounds, you’ll be a mere 0.5 miles from the beach that welcomes furry visitors out of season. Kayaking, paddleboarding and other water-based adventures await, but when the day is done your cosy abode has a gas flame-effect fire and lots of comfortable spots to grab a quick snooze.
Park in the private parking area that has space for two cars and scamper down the steps to reach your detached property. Once inside, you’ll be enveloped in a sense of comfort thanks to the handily equipped kitchen and spacious lounge/diner. Retreat to the nook to read a book or admire the views, or step outside to enjoy the raised decked area with your morning coffee. Another flight of steps leads down to a further seating area. At bedtime, the four bedrooms are scattered between the ground floor and first floor, all sharing the downstairs shower room. There’s a Jack-and-Jill style bathroom on the first floor, but mind your head as there’s restricted head height on this level. Completing the property is a useful utility room in an outhouse.
Set against a dramatic backdrop of sandstone cliffs, West Bay Beach is a treat for canines when there are no restrictions. Eypemouth and Hive Beach are pup-approved all year round, easily reached within 3.5 miles. Splash in the sea and stretch all four limbs on the beach, then take to the coast path for an exciting adventure along the cliff tops. The bustling resort town of Weymouth (18.5 miles) has much to offer in the way of traditional seaside amusements, but Abbotsbury (8.5 miles) is a must-see too with its excellent walks, independent shops and tearooms.
