Set close to the eastern edge of the Peak District, the bustling market town of Matlock (2 miles) has plenty of dog-welcoming cafes and pubs, as well as plenty of riverside, canal and country walks. Dogs can join you on the Peak Rails heritage line, and are welcome at plenty of local attractions including the Heights of Abraham (3.5 miles), Crich Tramway Village (9 miles) and in the garden and park at Chatsworth (9.5 miles).
