A spacious end-terrace, set in a pretty village with a country pub close by. A great base for family or friends looking to explore the Eden Valley on foot or by bike.
Take one delighted dog with you when you stay at this traditional stone cottage in Long Marton, 3 miles from Appleby-in-Westmorland, in Cumbria. Sleeping five guests, the three-bedroom property makes a great base from which to explore the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and North Pennines. Tire furry feet out on long walks through picturesque countryside then return to your cosy cottage, with its enclosed front garden, to relax inside or out.
Open the door and call your cheerful chum through the hall to join you in the lounge. Let him doze as you watch the TV/DVD. Wander through to the kitchen to make a cup of tea and serve him his dinner. You also have a useful washing machine in here for whizzing through damp clothing and doggy towels after wet country walks. Prepare a tasty meal for everyone else with the delicious local produce you have sourced then gather around the table to begin the evening together. Take your canine companion out into the garden before bed then head upstairs to the double room, the twin or the single. Have a long, hot soak in a bubble bath before bed. In the morning, enjoy the fresh air over a cup of coffee in the front garden as your happy hound pads about. You can store bikes securely at the cottage and you also have parking for two vehicles.
Strike out on a 6-mile walk from the cottage to reach High Cup Nick in the beautiful Pennines. Drive 15 miles into the Lake District to Pooley Bridge then watch your pal’s ears prick up as you set out along the shores of scenic Ullswater. Alternatively, take in the stunning views from the water on one of the steamboats, all of which welcome four-legged passengers with open paws.
