Set on the edge of a rural village, yet with easy access to pretty Sherborne and the Dorset/Somerset border, this charming studio is the ideal bolthole for two, whatever the time of year. Boasting a private, enclosed garden with a fire pit and far-reaching views across beautiful countryside.

This former stable is a delightful mix of contemporary convenience and creature comforts for humans and hounds alike, sleeping two in rural splendour. You’ll have distant views and a fire pit to enjoy, and the pretty village of Charlton Horethorne boasts a friendly pub just a short walk away. You’ll be located 5.5 miles from Sherborne with its honey-stone buildings, castle ruins and ‘new’ castle for the days you fancy soaking up some local history and culture.

Attached to the owner’s home yet guaranteed privacy, this rural retreat is laid out in a studio style. There’s a fabulous kitchen primed for whipping up treats, including a coffee machine to make mornings a breeze. There’s a breakfast bar ideal for leisurely dining with your hopeful pup waiting patiently by your feet, and behind the comfortable chairs is a delightful king-size bed. To the rear, there is an enclosed gravel garden with a fire pit for those tranquil evenings stargazing under a blanket.

Leave no stick unfetched as you venture outside and scamper through the unspoilt countryside, letting Fido take the lead whilst you explore. Sherborne is an excellent destination to spend the day thanks to its extensive heritage and marvellous architecture. There is plenty to see as you pad through the streets, whether you are tempted by the weekly markets, the museum or the choice of eateries. Further afield, Cerne Abbas, Wincanton and Yeovil are all within 17 miles for day trips, and the Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is within 20.5 miles for yet more exciting walks.

Thoroughly enjoyed our week at Ash Lodge annexe. Everything you could possibly need is supplied in the very clean kitchen. The lodge annexe is lovely and comfortable, with a comfy bed and a fabulous, powerful, hot shower. We booked the annex as a last minute holiday in May. So glad we did, we both really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful location with views over the countryside. Bev and Martin were very friendly and made us very welcome. Ideal accommodation for staying with a dog as you have your own little garden space. Lovely well equipped annex. Would highly recommend!
