With views of the River Dyfi as it flows towards the sea, this rustic cottage makes a fantastic getaway for couples and families discovering the southern stretch of the glorious Snowdonia National Park. Offering inviting accommodation for up to four guests, this property also has plenty of space for one pet dog to tag along. Featuring timber beams, a cheery wood burner and a delightful ornamental pond, this imaginatively updated barn conversion provides a charming retreat for enjoying the sandy beaches, breathtaking mountains and long woodland walks of a spectacular part of Mid Wales.

Entering this beautiful stone-built cottage via some steps, you will find the relaxing open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with slate flooring and timber beams in the high vaulted ceilings. The cosy lounge has a warming wood burner, and there’s a delightful dining area over by the light-filled kitchen. The ground floor also offers a shower room and the first bedroom: a double room with an oak dressing table. Stairs lead up and directly into the mezzanine-style twin bedroom. From the lounge, French doors open out onto the picturesque garden. Patio furniture can be found on the decked area overlooking a beautiful ornamental pond, offering a lovely spot for a morning coffee. A few steps lead down to the lawn, surrounded by mature shrubs and trees, with space for your canine friend to run about.

The cottage is just 3 miles from the centre of Aberdyfi, also known as Aberdovey, a bustling coastal town with a choice of pet-welcoming pubs, cafes and restaurants. The glorious sandy beach is dog friendly, and you can enjoy a range of water sports along the River Dyfi including windsurfing, sailing and paddleboarding. Heading north into Snowdonia, keen walkers can take their canine companions on memorable hikes in stunning surroundings.

We had a very comfortable stay, shower worked well, beds comfortable, warm blankets, kitchen equipped with what we needed and we were very grateful for the extras in kitchen, seasoning, spray oil and a couple of gifts! Being a countryside property we were joined by a few spiders but no issues apart from some webs. Will book again if in the area! Hide

Lovely break in the Gatehouse. We loved the welcoming touches on arrival, the wood burning stove made for a cosy evening, enclosed garden just right for our small dog to explore and the weather was great so appreciated the decked area to sit out. Perfectly located to explore mid/north Wales. We really enjoyed our holiday and would return.

The cottage was lovely, and although it was very near to the main road, the passing traffic wasnt a problem. The beds were very comfortable and there was ample storage in the bedrooms. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything that you need, including detergents and cloths. The welcome package was a wonderful surprise, thank you for that. Lovely property, catered for all our needs. Location is ideal, away from all the hustle and bustle of other tourists , but close enough to all amenities. A real reclusive get away. Other reviews noted it being close to the road with a train track opposite. We didnt find this any problem with traffic passing as this was not continuous, and as for thRead moree train it was a 2 carriage rattler that passed a few times a day, with the view across the estuary, this just added charm to the property.
