Get away from it all in this picture-postcard cottage in the south of Snowdonia National Park. As expected, you and your furry sidekicks will be spoilt for choice when it comes to nearby walks, with forest trails and mountain tracks in abundance. You’ll also be within 7 miles of the sandy beaches and dramatic coast paths surrounding Aberdovey. After a day out with the pups, unwind by the wood burner or dine alfresco in the peaceful cottage garden.
The traditional Welsh farmhouse – set at the end of a farm track - is bursting with rustic charm, from the colourful creepers adorning the exterior walls to the exposed beams and whitewashed stonework inside. The spacious kitchen/diner is equipped with everything you need for a self-catering break, and has a large dining table for sharing mealtimes as a group. This room has stone flooring throughout, making it an ideal base for the hounds, and has an adjoining utility room for storing all their paraphernalia. The utility room also doubles up as a games room, with table football and an electronic dart board. In the evenings, relax in the cosy lounge to watch TV and warm your toes and paws by the roaring wood burner. A formal dining room and family bathroom complete the ground floor, with the four bedrooms and shower room upstairs. Outside, you’ll find an attractive cottage garden with outdoor furniture, chiminea, and BBQ. Although the area is enclosed, the pups must be kept on a lead due to the livestock in the surrounding fields. Please note, the garden has a small stream, stone steps, and some steep drops, so children must be supervised at all times.
The surrounding landscape is begging to be sniffed and explored, with exhilarating mountain climbs at nearby Cadair Idris (13 miles), waterside strolls and Dolgoch Falls (16.5 miles), and woodland tracks in Coed y Brenin Forest Park (27 miles). Alternatively, head to the coast for a traditional day at the seaside in Aberdovey (7 miles). This attractive coastal village boasts a sandy, paw-friendly beach and a great range of independent shops and eateries. The coastal walks branching away from the village are also stunning, offering far-reaching views and wildlife watching opportunities.
