The nearby lake of Bassenthwaite (20 miles) is a breathtaking setting for walking. Let the pup lead the way along the shore path or climb high above the water in the surrounding fells to marvel at the magnificent vista. A gentle climb for about 3 miles will also bring you to the Cumbrian Way. For a totally different landscape, head north to the Solway Coast. The rugged coastline is teeming with wildlife and provides jaw-dropping views across the Solway Firth to Scotland.
