Romantic stone cottage retreat, dog friendly, with creature comforts in quiet hamlet. Walk to the local pub or pop to Porthmadog and its harbour. Perfect to relax or be active in Snowdonia National Park.

Straight out of the pages of a storybook, this ivy-clad stone cottage is a charming retreat for couples along with two canine companions. You’ll be positioned in rural splendour yet just 9.5 miles from Porthmadog, a coastal gem famed for its rich maritime history, pretty harbour and steam trains. Snowdonia National Park surrounds you with its endless walking routes and adventures galore but, when the day is done, you’ll be able to walk to the nearest pub for a hearty meal and a glass of fine local ale.

Step inside to find a rustic interior with exposed stone, an inglenook fireplace and beamed ceilings. Fido will love flopping down by the wood burner and snoring away while you watch TV and relax, slipping through to the compact yet excellently equipped kitchen to whip up light meals or hearty suppers. Upstairs, there is a bunk bedroom and a double bedroom for a restful night’s sleep as well as an elegant bathroom for hosing down muddy paws. Perch outside with your morning coffee and watch the world go by, and in the evening, the outside space is perfect for a BBQ in the sunshine.

Whether you are drawn to the natural beauty of Snowdonia’s diverse landscape or are hoping to try something new such as climbing or fishing during your stay, there’s something for everyone here. Sniff out the best trails to suit your walking ability, wandering through sleepy villages and snapping up fresh seafood at a harbour town. Porthmadog aims to please with its classic charm, and many of the boat trips welcome canines too. For railway enthusiasts, the steam railway connects Porthmadog to popular destinations such as Beddgelert, 12 miles away.

Our stay made better by the most comfortable clean bed we have ever slept in whilst away from home.. Coal and wood added expense because we visited in winter. Beautiful scenery and easy to find nearby towns for shopping..

A neat little cottage with parking opposite and everything in the right place. The second bedroom is rather small, with no room for anything but the bunk beds, but for young children, it's OK. The location is good, generally very quiet and within a short drive of Porthmadog where shops can provide almost anything you need. A word of warning howeverRead more; If you want to eat out, do your research and book in advance; most pubs and hotels are not accepting walk-ins, even when they have plenty of space. Hide
