Head off for a wonderful walk around Rivington Reservoirs, less than a mile away, and you’ll find plenty of tranquil spots for a picnic whilst exploring the site. On your travels, pay a visit to Liverpool Castle (2 miles) a replica built to mark one of the lost landmarks, and Rivington Pinetum (2 miles) where your canine can sniff an array of interesting scents and hunt down a selection of sticks to fetch. Take a trip to the market town of Chorley and enjoy a hearty meal at one of the local pubs welcoming those on four legs in between soaking up the rich history of the area.
