A Grade II-listed former school house is the essence of heart-warming Yorkshire country living, offering spacious accommodation for six guests, enjoying both rural and coastal walks nearby.

Enjoy a getaway with two canine companions and your family or friends at this stunning home in the North York Moors National Park. Situated in a lovely village close to the beach and within easy reach of walking routes, cycle paths and bustling towns, this is an ideal spot for your Yorkshire getaway.

Oozing with character and period charm, this home has retained some of the traditional features such as fireplaces, spirelet and the pretty mullioned windows. Cook up a storm in the kitchen before eating in the cosy dining room warmed by a wood burner. Fire up the second wood burner in the lounge, rest up and watch your favourite films and TV shows while the dogs snooze at your feet. When you are ready to retire for the night, head upstairs to one of three spacious bedrooms. Outside is a delightful courtyard, an ideal spot for sipping your morning coffee or an evening tipple. You will also find a useful utility room complete with outdoor shower and washing machine, great for cleaning off mucky paws and shoes after a day exploring the countryside.

Fylingthorpe village has a charming pub and a shop for all your essentials. Less than 1 mile away is the picturesque village of Robin Hood’s Bay which has a range of cafes and shops as well as a superb dog-friendly sandy beach. There are hundreds of walks from the doorstep of this property, meander the routes along the Heritage Coast, sniff out adventures in the North York Moors hinterland or enjoy sections of the Cinder Track that runs through the National Park.

We had a brilliant stay at the old school house. The bedrooms were of a great size, with comfy beds. Well equipped kitchen and lovely welcome gift. Location was perfect, easy walking distance to the local pub, which had lovely food, and we walked into robin hoods bay a few times. Would highly recommend.

It would be useful to show a floor plan of the cottage. We believed that the master bedroom benefitted from an ensuite bathroom. However, in reality, whilst there was a separate shower, the room was not connected to the master bedroom, nor did it have a sink and toilet, which meant that to clean your teeth, you either had to queue for the main bathRead moreroom, or clean your teeth in the sink in the Kitchen or downstairs toilet. An absolute gem of a holiday let. Full of character, beautifully decorated and very well equipped.
