Get cosy in the living room on one of the two sumptuous sofas with the fire and a film on for the ultimate evening in. In each corner of the room, you’ll find traditional trinkets and nods to the property’s past which help to create the homely ambience this cottage offers. Next door, the open-plan kitchen/diner is a great place to gather, with a fully equipped kitchen for the chef of the group to fix up a feast and a six-seater dining table for everyone to sit and share stories. In the summer months, you can throw open the patio doors and let your four-pawed pals sit and soak up the sunshine in the south-facing patio garden, or head out and join them on the outdoor table and chairs. Upstairs on the first floor are two of the three bedrooms, both furnished with super-king-size beds, one of which can be made up as a twin on request. These rooms have been neutrally styled with touches of luxury which ensure a good night’s rest. The second floor is home to the final bedroom, a playful twin with a TV and Xbox games console, perfect for teenagers.
For a day out on the beach, visit the blissful sands of Saunton (7 miles) which welcomes sandy paws at all times of the year for invigorating walks along the beach-hut-lined shore. Braunton Burrows (8 miles) is a firm favourite with humans and hounds with its dense dunes and access to the South West Coast Path, perfect for those seeking adventure. Or, to make the most of the countryside, Muddiford lies 3 miles away for muddy trails and a hearty meal at the local country pub.
