This idyllic cliff-top farmhouse, full of character and charm, is the perfect holiday hideaway for families or friends. Set on a National Trust working farm, and close to the glorious South West Coast Path, it sleeps six guests across three bedrooms and welcomes two furry friends. A short stroll down the farm track brings you to the coast path where wonderful walks can be shared with your canine companions. The sandy cove at Crackington Haven (2 miles) and golden beaches at Widecombe Bay (8 miles) and Bude (10 miles) are within easy reach.
Original beams, fine granite fireplaces and traditional furnishings enhance this lovely property’s homely atmosphere. Three wood burners add a cosy touch to proceedings in the splendid formal dining room, the lounge with its comfortable seating and the spacious kitchen, which also houses an AGA and breakfast table. Climb the granite staircase to a family shower room and three delightful king-size bedrooms. One houses an en-suite bathroom with a roll-top bath, and another has an additional single bed and en-suite shower room. Outside is a pretty and private garden with outdoor furniture and a BBQ.
Sheltered Crackington Haven is a family favourite for surfing and swimming, with a dog-friendly pub, a cafe and some toilets. Seasonal restrictions apply in the high season, but pets can run free in the mornings and evenings. While restrictions also apply on busy beaches in Widdecombe Bay and Bude, other stretches of their gorgeous golden sands are open throughout the year. The open-air sea pool in Bude is perfect for children, and beach-side water sports schools will teach novices how to ride the Atlantic rollers. Enjoy family fun and a good soaking at the Monster Slip and Slide and hone your kayaking skills on the peaceful Bude Canal.
