Sitting in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Blackdown Hills, this wonderful lodge enjoys a secluded setting in the grounds of the owners’ home. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms and welcoming one faithful friend, it’s the perfect accommodation option for small families or groups of friends who want to discover the wonders of East Devon with their pup by their side. Spend your days hiking the hills, and your evenings enjoying a soak in the outdoor hot tub while your canine companion runs free in the enclosed garden.

Step inside and you’ll find a sociable open-plan living area with space to cook, dine and lounge. Head to the galley-style kitchen, which overlooks the pretty garden, and cook up a storm for your loved ones. Get the gang together to eat in the dining area before making your way to the living area to settle into a sofa and catch up on your favourite TV shows. Alternatively, head outside, fire up the charcoal BBQ  and dine alfresco while your faithful friend enjoys the freedom of the enclosed garden. After dinner, treat yourself to a dip in the private two person hot tub, or head to the shared games room and challenge your loved ones to a table football tournament. When it’s time for bed, you’ll find two beautiful country-style bedrooms to retire to.

Pack up a picnic and head into Culmstock village (6 miles) to take a stroll along the River Culm. There’s a lovely 2-mile walk to Uffculme that has some nice swim-spots along the way. Or take your pup out to the Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth (16 miles). After you’ve fallen in love with all of the residents, you can enjoy a meal in the restaurant, where your pup is welcome to sit under your table.

Compact but comfortable. Well equipped and tastefully decorated. We loved the hot tub and the games room. A really peaceful getaway for a family of 4 and a dog.

Great space, peaceful and we had access to a field to walk our dog. The hosts were lovely. It rained heavily most days so a porch or outdoor shoe store would have been a great help.

The cottage was extremely clean and tidy and well equipped, if it is peace and quiet you want, then this is the place for you, the garden is enclosed (pets can't get out) and very private so you can use the hot tub without being overlooked. The double bed was extremely comfortable (did not try the single beds) as was the rest of the property.
