A beautiful, terraced cottage with plenty of character providing a home away from home in the village of Brompton, which boasts a friendly pub, shop and walks from the doorstep.

Four Five friends or family members and two dogs can enjoy both the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors from this delightful cottage. A spacious property with wood burner, enclosed patio garden and a welcome hamper provided by the owners will welcome you to your well-deserved getaway. The village green provides ideal walkies for your dogs as well as a small stream to paddle in.


A charming, terraced property oozing contemporary country style with plenty of room for friends and family to enjoy socialising together, or taking some time out to relax. The kitchen/diner is well-equipped with everything you need to cook up a storm and eat together. Pop the dog’s bed in front of the warming wood burner in the cosy lounge while you rest up and watch a film. Upstairs are three bedrooms, one with en-suite and the others share a Jack and Jill bathroom with walk in shower. Outside is an enclosed patio garden, a real sun trap, ideal for sunbathing, dining al fresco and safe for the dogs to sniff around.


Located in the pretty village of Brompton, the local dog-friendly pub and a shop for picking up essentials are just 400 metres away. Head to Northallerton (2 miles and just 30 minutes walk), a delightful, traditional sedate market town which has a further range of independent shops and restaurants; plus a bi-weekly market where you can stock up on local produce. Find walks from the doorstep around the local area or visit the superb North York Moors National Park (5.5 miles) which is filled with fabulous trails with magnificent views that will set tails wagging. Run wild and free at the sandy Redcar Beach (28 miles), or visit the historic town of Thirsk (10.5 miles), the home of the Yorkshire Vet.

Very comfortable cottage with everything provided for our Christmas stay. Great location, especially being close to Northallerton for independent butchers, local department store and big supermarkets.

What a find - Dixon Cottage was comfortable and extremely well equipped. Sharon, the owner had thought of every comfort, and the cottage was well supplied with everything we needed for our weeks stay. Brompton was well placed for seeing the many delights that North Yorks. has to offer as well as being only an hour from the coast Splendid walking waRead mores all around us and the food in this part of the country in the pubs,restaurants,markets etc.is amazing. Fantastic cottage. Well equipped, very clean and the beds are so comfortable & we all slept so well! We tend not to return to cottages, as we like to keep exploring new places, but if this cottage was somewhere we hadn't yet visited, we would book it in a heartbeat!

Lovely friendly host. Beautiful old cottage, modernised tastefully, with antique furniture. Comfortable, very convenient to explore region. Convenient small shop 50th away. Great village for dog walks. Village inn was good fir lovely meal.

Beautiful cottage. Very clean and tidy. Well equipped with everything we needed. Lovely enclosed outdoor area at the rear, ideal for our dachshund. Cottage is cosy and spacious. Owner met us on arrival to give access and show us around. The welcome hamper was beautiful, very generous. Good location. We would recommend to family and friends.

We had a wonderful week at Dixon cottage, wonderful hamper waiting for us and the owner greeted us and gave us a tour of cottage and lots of useful info in terms of places to visit. Would definitely recommend the cottage, everything we needed and more and would highly recommend.

Can't recommend this cottage highly enough. Surprisingly spacious, sun trap garden and in a beautiful village close to The Dales and very close to the Moors. The drive between the beautiful village of Osmotherley to the beautiful town of Helmsley is particularly scenic,Sutton Bank and Robin Hood's Bay also recommended as is Langthorne's butcher. ShRead morearon, the owner, goes out of her way to be helpful but is never intrusive and the welcome hamper is the best we've seen by a country mile. Hide

Lovely cottage , decorated to a high standard. The village setting is so relaxing and there are gorgeous towns in the area. Lots to do , we would happily have stayed another week. Definitely recommend Dixon cottage.

What a lovely, homely, clean and welcoming cottage. Excellently placed for discovering Yorkshire and only a couple of miles from the nearest town of Northallerton. A village shop a few doors down for some basics, and two pubs within a few hundred yards, one of which offers food (The Village Inn). We were personally welcomed by the owner, and a loveRead morely hamper of goodies was on the kitchen counter, with all the basics for the first day and a bottle of sparkling wine! Our 2nd time in Dixon Cottage and it feels like a home from home. It was just as lovely as our first visit, back in February. Clean, comfortable and cosy with an amazing welcome pack. Sharon is always helpful and on hand to help with any issues.

This is a lovely cottage that is exceptionally well equipped and the welcome hamper was outstanding. The garden is a suntrap that is completely safe for dogs. We enjoyed Northallerton, Sutton Bank, Helmsley, Pickering, Hawes and Leyburn and the drive across The Moors from Osmotherley. Whitby is recommended too as is Langthorne's Farm Shop just up tRead morehe road. We were also made very welcome by the locals in The Crown. An outstanding cottage and we intend to return. Hide

We had a lovely holiday. The cottage was a great base for my family to explore North Yorkshire which was stunning. The village was lovely too, with added bonus of the Corner Shop. Definitely recommend staying here.

Lovely cottage excellent standards of cleanliness. Beautifully furnished. Lovely bath/shower and separate show room. We were all very impressed. Very nice cottage will certainly stay again. Also close to a large number of attractions with as Kiplin House which was a lovely place to visit. We went there twice. The dog loved it.

Lovely cottage, has everything you need, excellent range of complimentary items, down to the slippers and welcome food hamper which contained essentials plus luxuries. Well done Sharon we had a lovely week in Brompton.
