Tucked away down a peaceful country lane, this charming cottage combines period charm with modern comforts and overlooks its own scenic gardens, providing the perfect escape for large groups of friends or families in the Derbyshire countryside. Inside, bask in the warmth of the roaring open fire, and outside, dine alfresco on the patio, play a game of fetch with Fido, and stargaze around the fire pit.

Step inside to a welcoming hall with plenty of space for coats and boots, leading into an elegant dining room complete with an open fire. The dining table comfortably accommodates 12 guests, making it ideal for larger groups. A few steps down, you'll find the cosy lounge, also boasting an open fire to toast cold paws on chilly winter nights. The stylish, well-equipped kitchen includes everything you need to whip up a feast, then you can gather around the table to share a meal and plan your next day’s adventures. When it's time to retire for the night, choose from five beautifully decorated bedrooms. Off the dining room, a staircase leads to the master bedroom with a luxurious king-size bed, an electric fire, and an en-suite shower room. A second staircase from the hall takes you to a cosy twin bedroom. The ground floor hosts the remaining bedrooms – two more king-size rooms (one with a vanity unit) and a single room, each individually styled to reflect its unique character. These ground-floor bedrooms share a bathroom and a separate shower room. Outside, enjoy BBQ dinners on the patio with ample seating or gatherings around the fire pit while pets and children play on the lawn. Ample off-street parking is available for several cars.

From here, you can easily explore the Peak District National Park, with stunning walking trails on your doorstep, including to the famous Thorpe Cloud, Dovedale Stepping Stones, and the River Dove’s water meadows. The nearby market town of Ashbourne (3.5 miles) has a selection of independent shops alongside dog-friendly cafes and pubs. For pups with energy to burn, Carsington Water Reservoir (8 miles) offers scenic walking and cycling paths around its 8-mile perimeter, or try the Tissington and Manifold trails (2 miles and 8 miles, respectively).

Amazing location, stepping stones and good pub in easy walking distance. Well equipped property. Cleanliness left a lot to be desired, items found in drawers, glass table covered in dust and bath drain blocked Unfortunately problems occurred with the central heating so were without heat for 2 evenings

Very comfortable stay with extended family for a week. We were 2:families with a total of 9 staying. The cottage was perfect for our needs. The children loved the garden, plenty of crockery etc, ample space in house and walking distance of Dovedale stones and Thorpe Cloud. No complaints from us and would recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay here in this lovely, well-equipped house and large garden in an excellent location. The house is furnished to a very high standard and spotlessly clean and perfect for a large family group.

Really lovely cottage in stunning scenery. Large garden that we all enjoyed, especially the grandchildren. Highly recommend. It is helpful to bring kitchen tea-towels, oven gloves, condiments, cling film - the cottage has lots of crockery, cutlery and pots and pans.

The cottage is absolutely beautiful and in an ideal location. Bedrooms were immaculate and comfortable as were the living areas. Cleaners had prepared the cottage two weeks previously. During the intervening time someone with a key had used the cottage for barbecues, dropping thick ash on the hall floor, leaving a dirty kitchen floor and chairs ranRead moredomly out in the dining room. Also, there was absolutely no Wifi and, due to this, no TV. A known problem not solved prior to our arrival. Hide
