Nestled in this quiet village, this cosy cottage, packed with character offers comfortable accommodation for up to seven guests, a truly beautiful base for exploring this stunning area. The perfect retreat for friends and families
Sitting in the heart of the picturesque village of Brassington, this charming stone cottage is jam-packed with original features and authentic character. The ideal retreat for a family holiday or a get-together with friends, it sleeps seven people over four bedrooms and welcomes two faithful friends. Your pups are sure to love long walks in the Peak District National Park and lazy evenings spent snoozing contentedly at your feet in front of the cottage’s glowing wood burner.
Step inside and you’ll find a welcoming hall where you can store your dog-walking gear. Make yourself at home and then head through to the country-style kitchen to cook up a storm for your loved ones. Gather everyone around the large table in the dining area for a meal to remember, before stepping out into the garden to enjoy a glass of wine as your pups run free in the enclosed space. Alternatively, head to the snug living room, light up the wood burner and slip onto a sofa to catch up on your favourite TV shows as your dogs stretch out to snooze by the fireside. At the end of the day, there are four bedrooms to choose from.
Your pups will love staying in Brassington because it sits on the High Peak Trail, which follows the route of the former Cromford and High Peak Railway. Take them on a wonderful 4.5-mile hike to the Black Rocks – the views there are superb. Alternatively, take them for a walk at Carsington Water (2 miles). The Reservoir Trail there takes you through butterfly-filled wildflower meadows and along quiet creeks on a lovely loop around the reservoir.
