This pretty lodge offers an array of creature comforts including a luxurious hot tub, conveniently close to Dartmoor National Park and provides a lovely retreat for families or couples alike.
This pretty log cabin on the northwest edge of Dartmoor National Park sleeps four people across two bedrooms and welcomes one canine companion. It’s the perfect rural retreat for a small family or a group of friends who want to enjoy the country living at its finest. You’ll love taking long, lazy dips in the hot tub, and your pup will adore running around the enclosed garden/patio.
This lovely property is accessed via a gently sloping ramp or a set of external stairs to the front door. Step inside and you’ll find a beautiful open-plan living room/kitchen/diner with fabulous feature floor-to-ceiling windows and French doors that open out on to a decked terrace. Head to the kitchen and cook up a storm for your loved ones and then get everyone together to eat in the dining area. Alternatively, head outside to the decked terrace at the front of the property and dine alfresco. After dinner, make your way to the rear decked area and take a relaxing dip in the private hot tub, or head indoors to chill out in front of the flame effect electric fire in the living area. When the day is done, there are two beautiful bedrooms to choose from.
Take your pup for a stroll around the ruins of Okehampton Castle (1.5 miles) – the largest castle in Devon. Set on a wooded spur above the rushing River Okement, it’s a lovely spot for a picnic. Or go for walkies at Burrator Reservoir (19.5 miles), where there are miles of paths and moorlands to explore - you may even spot one of Dartmoor’s famous ponies. There’s a special dog exercise area in an old forestry block there where your pup can enjoy a run off-lead.
