This luxurious farmhouse is the perfect base for humans and hounds who love the great outdoors. You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to dog walks, with the Offa’s Dyke Path and The Skirrid within 15 miles. The property has ample room for you and the pups to spread out, with a lounge, snug, reading/games room, and large garden. After a long dog walk, rest your weary limbs in the gorgeous free-standing bath.
Stone steps lead to the entrance porch, where you can store your muddy boots and dog leads. Once inside, discover a characterful lounge, with low ceilings, wood panelling, and a cosy wood burner – the perfect doggy dozing spot. Unwind here to watch TV, or retreat to the snug to curl up with your favourite book. The impressive kitchen/diner is the ideal place for entertaining, with a large table to seat all eight guests and ample worktop space, as well as plenty of room for the dog beds. Cottage-style stairs spiral their way to the first floor, where a split-level landing leads to the four elegant bedrooms. The stunning garden is arranged across different levels, creating a variety of spots to sit and admire the rural views. Dine together on the patio at the top of the garden, while Rover and Fido play on the large lawn.
There are some fantastic circular walks nearby - encompassing stretches of the Offa’s Dyke Path - including the 4.5-mile loop that starts a Llanthony Priory (16 miles). You and the woofers can admire the evocative ruins of the 12th-century abbey, before climbing high into the Black Mountains. Alternatively, spend the day pottering amongst the cute streets of Hay-on-Wye (10 miles), before heading down to the riverside beach, The Warren, to let the hounds cool off in the water.
