A spacious modern property, offering a great base for family and friends to explore the Lakes and Cumbrian coastline. With a couple of country pubs on your doorstep.

A patchwork of green fields surround this beautiful property based in the idyllic village of Ennerdale Bridge in the Lake District National Park. This bright and spacious retreat is perfect for groups of up to six guests and two dogs keen to walk the many wild, rugged and scenic footpaths in and around the Cumbrian Mountains.

Let your pup lead the way into this delightful ‘upside down’ house. On entering, you will soon discover the two delightful ground floor bedrooms: a pretty double with garden access and a twin room with zip-and-link beds that can be made up into a king-size. Upstairs, a marvellous open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner welcomes you. The wow-factor feature of this generous space is the bi-folding doors that open out onto a balcony with unforgettable countryside views. Relax in front of the cosy wood burner as your canine companion rests his head on your legs. When you’re feeling peckish, the well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to whip up a meal. Sit at the farmhouse-style dining table as your pup waits patiently by your feet for a treat. Alternatively, why not dine outside on the balcony and soak in the scenery? A third bedroom can be found just off the kitchen with a double bed and an en-suite with a freestanding bath.

Experience a dog-friendly ramble up Catbells fell. Start your trek at Hawse End, 23 miles away, and take in the outstanding scenery of mountains and lakes as you make your climb. The coastal town of St Bees can be reached in 8 miles and has a long sandy beach where your faithful friend can stretch its paws.

This is a lovely property, well presented, spotlessly clean, well equipped (sharp kitchen knives - a real rarity in rental properties!) and in a fabulous situation both scenically and in respect of its closeness to a super village shop / cafe and excellent pub. We had a very comfortable 2 week stay. The owners were approachable, helpful and found aRead more solution when the washing machine broke down. Hide

Really lovely quiet location, if you want a less commercialised stay in the lakes this is for you! Ennerdale Water was stunning, really enjoyed our stay. Property has everything you need for a group, with the advantage of a bathroom per bedroom.

We absolutely loved our stay at Thornside. The house was beautiful with gorgeous quiet views across fields at the back of the house. We were lucky enough to be there the week of the heatwave so sitting out on the balcony ever day felt like a holiday in itself!

This was the perfect holiday for us. The accomodation was just perfect. With everything we needed. Comfortable, clean. It has amazing views from the balcony and in a fabulous location, with a coffee shop and small shop next door and a pub down the road.
