Get your dog’s tail wagging by heading out a picturesque walk from this cottage and through the immaculate, landscaped castle gardens or out into the woodland or countryside beyond. This exquisite one-bedroom cottage, a former bothy, nestles within the grounds of Drummond Castle, in Perthshire Scotland, and sleeps two guests and one bonny Bonzo. Just 3 miles from Crieff, it is also well-positioned for a visit over to Perth, a 20-mile trip.
Open the front door to this single-storey, stone cottage and call your cheerful chum through from the hall to join you in the lounge/kitchen/diner. Stoke up the wood burner in here on chilly days and your dog can curl up in front of a roaring fire. Prepare something tasty for dinner in here as well. Lay the table then dine together as you take in the picturesque views and your well-fed friend stretches out close by. Wander down the hall to indulge in a hot shower before bed then continue on down to the king-size room to settle for the night. Share breakfast outside on your private area of decking, which is down a few steps, or light the BBQ out here on pleasant evenings. Parking for one car at the cottage.
Drive approximately 14 miles to reach the edge of Loch Earn, where you can stroll along the shore and through the forest. Closer to home, 7 miles away, head down towards Braco to tire out furry feet on a scenic, 8.5-mile walk taking you past lochs, a castle and the remains of the Ardoch Roman Fort.
