Set along the stunning western edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this impressive farmhouse is a spacious, relaxing and friendly holiday home for eight guests seeking a charming rural retreat.
Escape to this gorgeous former farmhouse near Sedbergh, in Cumbria, for a relaxing break. The attractive, four-bedroom country house sleeps up to eight guests, plus a pair of canine companions, and not only sits in beautiful gardens but also has access to meadows and a 5-acre field. There are fabulous walking routes through the surrounding Yorkshire Dales, and you can plan day trips into the Lake District, which is only 12 miles away.
Dry damp dogs in the porch, hang leads in the hall and head through to the snug to relax with your happy hounds, and perhaps enjoy a little TV. Alternatively, wander into the lounge to light the wood burner and find something different to watch. Take your perfect pals into the large kitchen/diner when it’s time for dinner. Cook for everyone else too then make yourself coffee using the boiling water tap and pause at the central island for a while. Lay the table in the garden room-style dining area. Pop doggy towels in the washing machine in the utility room and discover a downstairs shower room with WC. Make your way up to the first floor for a restful sleep in the super-king-size bedroom, the king-size or one of the two twins. There is also a family bathroom. Explore the grounds with the pups to your hearts’ content, watching them near the pond. Light the BBQ on warm evenings and dine out here too. There is plenty of parking.
From the field, take your happy hounds along the path towards the river. Pick up the Dales Way, which runs for 80 miles from Ilkley to Bowness-on-Windermere in the Lake District. Drive 20 miles to Windermere to follow footpaths and trails or to take a lake cruise on which four-legged passengers are also welcome aboard.
