Set in the picturesque Lakeland village of Patterdale, just a mile from the southern tip of Ullswater, this traditional property has been beautifully updated to make a fantastic family holiday home.
Escape to Patterdale in the Lake District and savour the beauty of magnificent Ullswater with your faithful friends beside you. This three-bedroom cottage sleeps six guests and also accommodates two four-legged companions. Set tails wagging with walks along the 20-mile Ullswater Way. Head back to the cottage afterwards to bask in the heat of the wood burner with your pups at your feet or to take in the fresh air over a cup of tea in the partly enclosed courtyard.
Enter the cottage, which does have a few steps up and down on its ground floor. Take your delighted dogs through into the lounge. Light the wood burner, switch on the TV and relax together after your busy day. When your furry friends start asking for dinner, take them through to the kitchen with a breakfast bar where you can sit while they dine. Also at ground-floor level, there’s a king-size bedroom, with wood burner, and a WC. Climb either of the staircases to reach the first floor, where the dining room and the snug are situated, together with a twin bedroom and a super-king-size, with a four-poster bed and en-suite bathroom. The family shower room is also here. Take your pals out to stretch their legs in the morning. On warm days sit out in the small courtyard afterwards as you plan your day. Parking is on the road, subject to availability, or in a nearby pay car park.
Walk or drive less than 1 mile to Glenridding, where you can board an Ullswater steamboat with your four-legged friends. Bound off at Aira Force to see the waterfall or at Pooley Bridge to enjoy the 10-mile walk home, beside the lake and up and down the fells, with some stunning views.
