Set in the picturesque Lakeland village of Patterdale, just a mile from the southern tip of Ullswater, this traditional property has been beautifully updated to make a fantastic family holiday home.

Escape to Patterdale in the Lake District and savour the beauty of magnificent Ullswater with your faithful friends beside you. This three-bedroom cottage sleeps six guests and also accommodates two four-legged companions. Set tails wagging with walks along the 20-mile Ullswater Way. Head back to the cottage afterwards to bask in the heat of the wood burner with your pups at your feet or to take in the fresh air over a cup of tea in the partly enclosed courtyard.

Enter the cottage, which does have a few steps up and down on its ground floor. Take your delighted dogs through into the lounge. Light the wood burner, switch on the TV and relax together after your busy day. When your furry friends start asking for dinner, take them through to the kitchen with a breakfast bar where you can sit while they dine. Also at ground-floor level, there’s a king-size bedroom, with wood burner, and a WC. Climb either of the staircases to reach the first floor, where the dining room and the snug are situated, together with a twin bedroom and a super-king-size, with a four-poster bed and en-suite bathroom. The family shower room is also here. Take your pals out to stretch their legs in the morning. On warm days sit out in the small courtyard afterwards as you plan your day. Parking is on the road, subject to availability, or in a nearby pay car park.

Walk or drive less than 1 mile to Glenridding, where you can board an Ullswater steamboat with your four-legged friends. Bound off at Aira Force to see the waterfall or at Pooley Bridge to enjoy the 10-mile walk home, beside the lake and up and down the fells, with some stunning views.

  • 3 bedrooms – 1 king-size, 1 twin, 1 super-king-size with Four-poster bed
  • 2 bathrooms – 1 en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and WC, 1 shower room with shower and WC, plus 1 ground-floor WC
  • Double electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, coffee machine, dishwasher
  • 2 wood burners
  • Oil-fired central heating
  • TVs in lounge and dining room
  • Partially enclosed patio with outdoor furniture (please note that the neighbouring property uses the patio area to access their property)

  • Ullswater 1 mile

Woodbine House is one of our favourite places to stay in the Lake District. There is plenty of space for six people and all of the decor has been done to a high standard. There are plenty of pots, pans and other kitchen equipment to make self catering easy and the kitchen is wonderful to cook in. The location of the cottage is excellent for accessiRead moreng the high fells straight from the door. We always just park the car for a whole week and walk everywhere straight from Woodbine House. Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. Our only issue was the noise as the cottage is right on the road and very close to the pub. We were disturbed by people smoking and chatting right outside our windows.

We have just arrived home after a lovely week at Woodbine House. It is a stunning, spacious cottage and it was immaculate on arrival. The house is really well equipped, and very comfortable. All you need to be aware of is the parking situation. You will need to park at the Patterdale Hotel which is about a 1 minute walk from the house, it costs 5 aRead more day. The location is beautiful, and is a short walk from Glenridding village which has a few shops. Hide

Absolutely beautiful cottage with some gorgeous touches, the under floor heating was a real treat. You are on the main road so a light sleeper may struggle. With saying that we will definitely come again.

Perfect location for us. Great facilities and very comfortable. The cleaning could be much improved and a few items of maintenance dealt with.

Great cottage well equipped and spotlessly clean with quirky layout that made it even more enjoyable . Location fabulous especially being just across the road from the White Lion pub and 5 mins from Ullswater lake and Glenridding in the car . There is no shop in the village but 2 well stocked mini markets in Glenridding for essentials .

Gorgeous cottage with loads of character and space. The owners have equipped the cottage really well, and it is cozy and comfortable. Nice linen, great showers, pretty cushions, pictures. All the things you hope for when booking. There are great walks from the cottage, but it's not too far to eat out in Keswick or Windermere. The cottage is on the Read moremain road through the village and there is traffic noise. Unloading the car is a pain because there is no drop off point. Worth it once you are in. Hide
