Enjoy a romantic getaway for two in charming Keswick with this stylish town-centre hidden bolthole in the heart of the picturesque Lake District National Park.
Situated in the centre of ‘adventure capital’ Keswick in the Lake District National Park, this charming country cottage is the perfect bolthole for couples and their four-legged friends. The bustling market town has an array of independent shops and eateries within a few hundred metres. Of course, you also have a wealth of natural beauty on your doorstep, so you and your canine companions will be spoilt for choice when it comes to walks. It is the ideal base from which to explore the breathtaking scenery of the northern Lakes.
A traditional Lakeland cottage, it has been beautifully renovated and updated in April 2022 to create a light and airy home with all the mod-cons. Stepping through the front door, you will find yourself in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where a hard floor is perfect for muddy paws. The lounge has a sofa and a separate chair, dining is available at the breakfast bar, and the small but well-equipped kitchen is ideal for cooking a hearty meal. On the first floor, you’ll find the well-presented double bedroom and bathroom. On-street parking is available a short walk away.
Sitting at the northern shores of Derwentwater, Keswick is less than a mile away from the picturesque lake, whilst Bassenthwaite Lake, a nature reserve with its own nesting ospreys, is less than 5 miles away. You can also find your inner ‘sea dog’ on Derwentwater and take a boat ride or hire a canoe. There are plenty of walking routes from Keswick to suit a range of abilities. For something leisurely, take a stroll up to Castlerigg Stone Circle (2 miles), which offers stunning panoramic views. Further afield, you can access the quieter, more challenging, northern ascents to stunning Skiddaw and Blencathra, as well as Catbells (all within 7 miles).
