Make the most of Windermere with this dog-friendly home from home within easy walking distance of this popular area’s amenities and attractions.
This stylish property sleeps four guests and one pup, making it ideal for a couple or small family. Set in the bustling lakeside town of Bowness-on-Windermere, you’ll have a fantastic selection of paw-friendly eateries on your doorstep, as well as easy access to some of the region’s top outdoor adventure companies. The area is a paradise for dog walkers, with routes ranging from waterside strolls to exhilarating fell climbs. The property makes the most of its elevated position, with a gorgeous south-facing balcony overlooking the lake.
The attractive property has a reverse-level layout and is decorated in calming, neutral tones. The open-plan living space is located on the second floor and is light and airy, thanks to floor-to-ceiling French doors leading to the balcony. This is a sociable space, allowing you to chat at the dining table whilst dinner is being prepared, before sinking into the plump sofas to watch TV or admire the sunset from the balcony. On the ground floor there’s a utility area for storing your walking gear and drying damp paws. The two bedrooms are on the first floor. As well as the balcony, there’s also an enclosed patio garden where you can dine alfresco, and the pup can stretch their legs in the morning.
You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to walks in the area. However, one walk that never fails to disappoint is the circular route from Bowness-on-Windermere to the summit of Orrest Head. It was the first climb of acclaimed fell walker Alfred Wainwright and the inspiring views from the top are unrivalled. Step back in time with a ride on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway. You and Rover can chug through the picturesque Leven Valley on the magnificent steam train, all the way to the southern tip of Windermere.
