This wonderful cottage, situated just half a mile from Keswick Launch, is perfect for families and groups of friends – including the canine ones! With three tranquil bedrooms and plenty of space for up to two dogs, this holiday home is an inviting base to return to after a long day out exploring the stunning Lake District. Go for a lake cruise on Derwentwater or on one of Ullswater’s Steamers (16.5 miles), or simply grab your boots and go for walkies on one of the many walking trails that are suitable for little legs, human and canine!
The property, which sits less than 200 metres from a dog-friendly pub, has a contemporary feel that still keeps the cottage’s traditional charm. The compact kitchen is fresh and bright, while warm tones and comfy sofas beckon you to sink into them in front of the wood burner, the pups snoozing by the hearth. The sunny window seat is perfect for sitting on with your morning coffee and a book. Take a refreshing shower in the beautifully tiled shower room before winding down for bed; each room is decorated in calming neutrals with thoughtful furnishings that remind you of your countryside location.
Head to the Puzzling Place (500 metres) with the kids to experience some mind-boggling illusions – your faithful friends can join too! They can also join you in the Derwent Pencil Museum (0.5 miles). Stretch your legs along the 6-mile out-and-back Keswick to Threlkeld Railway Trail that starts just half a mile from your front door and takes you over the River Greta. For more of a challenge, try one of the many routes up and around Skiddaw (5.5 miles), where you’ll experience some amazing views. Whinlatter Forest (5.5 miles) also has plenty of trails suitable for children and dogs.
