Charming cottage full of character situated in Ennerdale Bridge in the heart of Ennerdale Valley. The perfect retreat for a family of six exploring the Lake District.
Bring a duo of delighted dogs along when you stay at this three-bedroom cottage in the western Lake District. Set in Ennerdale Bridge, 10.5 miles from Cockermouth, it also sleeps six guests and has a lawned garden which Fido and Fred will simply adore. Take them out on long walks through the Ennerdale Valley or stretch their furry legs on a 7-mile loop of Ennerdale Water, 1.5 miles from the cottage.
Open the front door and take your tired but happy hounds through to the kitchen for a well-earned refreshment. Pop any muddy towels into the washing machine and dryer in the utility space. Make a fresh cup of coffee in the machine, then pop dinner into the oven to roast and head into the lounge. Fire up the wood burner, let Fido and Fred doze in a corner and find a film to watch on the Smart TV with DVD. Sit down to eat in the dining room. As night falls, climb the stairs to either the king-size room or the bunk bedroom on the first floor, where the bathroom, with roll-top bath, is also situated. There is also a twin bedroom with steep, cottage-style stairs up to a games room with table football and TV to plug in games consoles. This room has low ceilings and reduced head height. Take the pups out to run on the lawn in front of the house in the morning or the grassy area next to the river, keeping a watchful eye on them. Parking is on the road, subject to availability.
Hop in the car and drive just over 8 miles to reach Crummock Water. Fido and Fred will enjoy nothing more than tackling the 8.5-mile route right around the lake here. For an easier stroll, venture 1.5 miles from the cottage to see the Blakeley Raise Stone Circle, set on a small plateau of land at the edge of scenic Blakeley Moss.
